Akhila Yoga was founded by Gururaj (Guru) Joshi. Guru learnt Hatha Yoga at the internationally renowned Isha Hatha Yoga School in 2021. It involved intense 1750+ hours of training spanning over a 5-month period from July-December at Isha Foundation in Coimbatore, South India.

Guru’s career has had significant turns and twists and he has been able to embrace what life throws at him gracefully. He completed a PhD in Chemistry in the UK and then a job in Chemistry brought him to Switzerland. In 2016, he left the path of Chemistry and founded an Indian food place “Dabbawalas Indian Kitchen” – a completely vegetarian place in Basel, which has been successfully run till date.

With the growing awareness about the Yoga and a strong inner calling led Guru to pursue Hatha Yoga at Isha Foundation in 2021. There he learnt Yoga in its authentic form, which left him transformed physically, mentally and energetically. Deeply touched by the profoundness of Hatha Yoga, Guru now offers Isha Hatha Yoga in Basel since January 2022.
